Would anyone know why WindowBlinds would cause my my system to have hang issues. While WB was installed my computer would go through small but noticable periods of zero cpu activity. This just started happening recently but i cannot think of anything I have done to cause this issue.

if you're reinstalling the standalone version - try switching to the released via SDC

download it, install it, register your product(s), then use SDC to download and install

if you haven't used SDC, this will come in handy

I'm wondering something here. It's normal for the system to idle down to a 99% system idle process(cpu usage will show as 0% periodically) whether Window Blinds is loaded or not. If you bring up the task manager with just Windows loaded you will be able to see this. Then do the same with Window Blinds loaded and it will do the same. CPU cycles are consumed when programs are making changes or when active playback is occuring in programs like WMP. Right now when not typing my CPU cycles are running between 2 and 4% and that's with a full Object Desktop theme, my internet software running, Norton 2006, and SDC among other processes loaded. If I were to close down my internet connection my CPU cycles would run between 0 and 2%.

Yes that is perfectly normal. Remember it is System IDLE process.

Just to update, I think it was an installation issue. But what I was experiencing was a complete cease in CPU activity. The mouse would not fluidly move across the screen and clicking on menus would not react up to 20-30 seconds, sometimes longer. Opening the webbrowser was probably the most foolish thing to do, and when opening taskmager, it would open quickly but the image would freeze.

But all is good so far after the removal (complete) of WB and a reinstall.
