With the increase use of multiple and Widescreen monitors, people are finding it difficult to find on the web, wallpapers to fit their monitor resolutions. There are some sites out there that have wallpapers that support the wide resolutions, but generally there is a fee for the download of these, on top of that, there are few websites that even have these wallpapers.

My fix for this is to use paintshop pro, or whatever imaging software you choose that has these features is to change the size of the image you want to use. Below are the steps I take to make my wallpapers fit and still maintain the image.

1.Open image with Paintshop Pro.
2.Change the image size to my desired width ( I have three monitors running at 1280 x 1024), the image size I will need is 3840 x 1024, so I change image width to 3840 and leave the aspect ratio intact
3.Then I change the canvas size to 3804 x 1024 (you have to unclick "keep aspect ratio so that it will crop the top and bottom of the image. (there is a setting to set how much off the top and bottom I want to remove) I make this judgment based on the image and what I am trying to expose on my desktop.

This does remove part of the image, but it looks a lot better then an image stretched and distorting.

This in part is also a request to wallpaper designers. Multi-monitors are becoming popular. It would be nice to see more dual and triple monitor wallpapers.

I don't know with paint shop pro but you can try this with photoshop to ways:
first: create new picture backround transparency with your resolution size(ex: 3840x1024) and past three times the original wall ones beside the others.
like that:

2nd: take original wall and resize it in 3840x1024 but disable "preserve the proportions"

i think that isn't possible to all authors to make all resolutions and that we continue to change size of their walls.

I'M SORRY SCOTT FOR THAT.

I saw that post, I just wanted to reiterate and clearify, to the people that request these uncommon wallpaper resolution sizes to fit thier screen.

in reply to Quentin94, I understand what you have done to that image, but I am suggesting a way to have the image fit the same size without the distortion. As you can see the Windows Logo has been stretched to make it seem that the wallpaper is stretch and not natural. This is fine for some images (ie: same image with the logo would look fine) But the logo ruins it.

This is another image as you can see this is what the image looks like at a standard resolution, in this case I will use an 800x600 image

This is what the image looks like after the adjustments to 3840x1024

This is another image at 1208x1024

And this is the same image with the adjustments to 3840x1024 (The image isn't great but as you can see it is possible with a little finagling.

This can be done with any image with Photoshop or Paintshop. Just take a little time. Until we start to see more widescreen and multi-monitor wallaper, you will have to deal with the stretched image or use the tools available to satisfy you skinning needs

I want to thank the original creators of the images above. I hope I didn't step on someones toes by using these images.

To all the wallpaper designers, Many of use who too inept and lack the creativity, we give you props. It's people like you that keep me from looking at the bliss screen and think of misery.
