When playing games supported by Punkbuster, particularly Call of Duty 4, because I have not had this issue with other games. But I get kicked from servers because of a Windows API function error 1311xx. This error is initially an overlay issue, because some game hacks use overlays. But it also includes legitimate overlays (i.e.: chat client overlays, xfire, among other programs as well.)

I have searched the internet and there seems to be an enormous amount of API errors regarding the game and none of them pertain to my issue or they pertain to a program/software that I do not have. I have diagnosed this issue myself and I have narrowed the error down to Windowblinds. Is there a fix for this or do I need to disable Windowblinds during game time? I have found one post stating that Windowblinds was the cause of that person issue as well.

Has anyone experienced a Windows API function error with other games supported by Punkbuster. I also play America's Army which is famous for its Punkbuster issues, but I have never experienced an issue with any Stardock software installed.

Does Stardock have a fix for this or is this something Evenbalance need to take issue with

Kind of a generic suggestion but I'll throw it out anyway -

Have you tried excluding the application from skinning within Windowblind Config?

(Configure Windowblinds, Settings, Change the look of an app, add per application setting, Total exclusion - Ignore this application....)

Yeah, I had the same problem and excluding the application (both singleplayer and multiplayer exe for Call of Duty 4) worked flawlessly.

I was going over some of my posts and realize I never answered this. Just an update for future viewers. yes, excluding the application from skinning within Windowblind Config worked just fine
