If any of you WB skinners plan on doing something for valentine’s day... can someone do a nice blind that can be used every day, I would really like to see a soft pink, skin that my daughter could use on her desktop...  so if you are inclined to make a skin for this Feb. 14th, please keep this in mind.

Something plain and soft... easy to use daily...something girly -girls would like...

Thank you in advance

Pffffttttt...ROFLMAO.  I guess the "LuvSux" that I'm making at the request of my daughter would NOT fit the bill of your request.

(every year, there are thousands of people who view Valentine's day as a needless day of disappointment, a day they get their hopes and expectations up, only to be ignored, unnoticed, left behind, abandoned.  My skin will be dedicated to those thousands)

May I suggest you purchase her MyColors Princess theme?  Sounds like it's just what you're looking for.

Just looked, Karen...great suggestion! Looks like just what he's looking for!

My husband calls me Baby...this is also, interestingly, the dog's name.  I think it's probably something he just called everything he ever loved, and since he's kinda fried from trying to be a rock star until he was 33, its a safe name to call the one he loves.  Oh, I guess sometimes he calls me by my first and last name together, ("Karen Lowe" like it was all one word) which my youngest son thinks is demeaning and he does to connotate ownership.  I really don't mind because my EX-husband's pet name for me was disgusting and perverted (I should have left him after my first son was born when I started to get the first clues, but then I wouldn't have my daughter or youngest son, and they're worth all the crap I went through until I grew a pair and walked).

Karen this is so weird, Princess was also my husband's nickname for Bop [the cat]

Well, they were both a-holes, and we're lucky they are gone now [Ex's I mean, not our pets hehe]

Oh, and I also despise Valentine's Day.. it's just a hideous reminder of exactly how lonely you are...

We will never understand the opposite sex.  I've come to grips with that fact.  I now just kind of appreciate them in a far-off sort of way like admiring a herd of deer in an open field. (depending on my own personal situation, sometimes with the awe of the miracle of nature, and other times like a irrate hunter looking to kill).

Well, they were both a-holes, and we're lucky they are gone now

I still hear from my ex from time to time, since he IS the children's father and the divorce was amiable.  I like the fact that  all the children sort of look on him with pity like he's cognitively impaired, even though he has a Ph.D.  It was pretty much like being married to Homer Simpson for 16 years.  And I like his new wife...I'm glad he found someone to take care of him.

I knew that you did, TG!    There are normal people, and then there are girls like us.  I've always felt sort of alien to the majority of the world, but occasionally I recognize my own kind.  I'm glad we are friends.

i think its might be a little to late to make a request for valentines day...wb's usually take at least a month to do and that would be a quickie for most...unless they are fulltime skinners

You know....last year I sent my girlfriend a dozen roses with the card on it saying, "A rose for every month I love you" then I took her to dinner that night at a really nice place. During dinner I noticed something was on her mind so I asked her. She was disappointed that I didn't stop and buy a card from the hallmark store for her. She said it would have meant so much more than sending flowers and dinner. Her reasoning was that I didn't have to go out of my way for the flowers. Was I really wrong for that? I've been wondering and this thread just made me think about it again. RAD

Isn't whopper trademarked by Booger King?

Get out while you can Rad...seriously.

Yea, I got away from her during the year. It's just one of those things you get to thinking about later and wonder......maybe it was stupid to get flowers and take her to dinner and not get a card. RAD

Just tell me where she lives and I'll put a contract out on her, because it girls like her that make sure that girls like me end up with zippo for V-day, by discouraging the guy from even trying!

But  just to show you how deep my baggage goes and to prove the pendulum swings both ways, the first Valentines day I was married to my DH (and this stage didn't last long, thank goodness, this was when he was still a professional alcoholic), I knew he didn't have any money to get me anything so I gave him $20 so I wouldn't end up remembering our first Valentine's day as a married couple as coming up empty....he drove as far as the closest convenience store and spent the lion's share of the 20 on beer for himself and bought me a box of Altoids.  I should have kept the $20 and ended up with nothing, because the amount of disappointment that would have produced was a lot less than the amount I suffered with a box of Altoids.
